I think I have made it awfully clear to the general public how I feel about white socks.  The english language contains no words that could fully express my distain for these things. Saying they are horrid, disgusting, gross, and vial does not begin to convey the true feelings I have for them. While I believe that all living things should share my hatred for white socks, I am beginning to realize that I am in the minority and not the majority. My hatred seems to baffle people, and makes them wonder why my dislike is so strong. I might not be able to explain it fully, but allow me to try.

First and foremost, if you wear white socks, do me a favor and look at them. I can’t see what your looking at but I am going to guess that these fuckers are far from white. You pull them out of the package, sure they are white then, but the fact of the matter is, they will NEVER be white again. Whether it’s a dull shade of yellow, or a small hint of brown, bleach just doesn’t have enough in the tank to rectify your problems.  And quite honestly, who wants to walk around like that, NOT ME. Just think about that next time you slap these babies on. If that is not enough to make you cringe, keep reading, you have tons to learn.

Shouldn’t white socks be like a phase? I can realistically equate it to pissing the bed. Sure, when you were young and didn’t  know any better, pissing the bed was as American as apple pie. But eventually rolling around in soiled sheets gets old, so why shouldn’t walking around with SEMI-white socks get old. Around the same time I quit pissing the bed, I might have finally got enough guts to tell Gail that the white socks needed to be thrown out with my sheets.  So unless ya’ll are still pissing the bed, like some the Thorton Academy alumni I happen to know, you should make white socks a thing of the past.

Was I the only one who grew up in the Fab Five era? If you don’t know who they are, shame on you, but here is what they were all about. They were pioneers, they were revolutionaries. They went against the grain, and they did it before anybody else. They put swagger on the map, and they brought style to a whole new level. They did all of these things while they were just kids, and they did it with black socks. Needless to say, they were my heros, my idols, and everything I wanted to be. Who doesn’t want to be cool? Who doesn’t want to be hip? I know that’s what I wanted, and in order for that to have a chance of happening, the white socks needed to go.

Here is what is all comes down to…………..

Do I hate white socks because I think they are dirty? Do I hate white socks because I relate them to a phase in my life when urine was cool? Do I hate white socks because the Fab Five chose not to wear them? While these are all valid reasons, they are not my reasons. But maybe they could be your reasons, maybe they will help you find your own reasons, or maybe, just maybe………she will keep them on next time and that will be reason enough.

Amen.

I can’t assume I am the only one that hates what the Miami Heat have done to the game of basketball. It makes all kinds of sense if you are sitting in their front office, but other than that, I see no upside. I don’t mind the signing of Chris Bosh. Modern day NBA Champions have always had a great big man to go along with a superstar guard. Kobe needed Shaq, and then he needed Pau. Paul had no chance before KG made his appearance in Boston. And D Wade would have been one and done in the playoffs every year before Shaq showed up. What I am getting at is, the big man is a must to win it all now, so signing Bosh makes great sense.

This is what doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. As the rules stand right now, they still play the game with only one pile of leather. So feel free to explain to me how this team is going to hold it together. I have heard the argument that it worked during the Olympics, and I am here to put that baby to sleep. This is not the Olympics, and they are not going to be playing Angola. Guys accept being unselfish in the Olympics because it is all about the gold medal. The NBA has no gold medal, but what they do have is awards and publicity. Naturally with that publicity comes dollar bills, and at the end of the day that is what makes those guys tick. Bosh will play second fiddle well, I see no issue with that. I see a big time issue with D Wade and LBJ. Who’s team is it? This is a question we will be asking all year long. Lebron has all the talent in the world, but I do think he is a selfish child. He had ESPN blowin’ him when he was in high school, and the rest has been history. He might have made this move to Miami in order to win some titles, but I ask you this. What happens when that doesn’t happen? What happens if they can’t get out of the East and never even play for the big prize? Lebron will make this situation combustible and it is going to be great to watch. This could go down as a one year experiment. If this doesn’t work this year, I think you are going to see the true colors from LBJ. The Heat’s Big 3 will be 1 and done, and Lebron will demand a trade to NY in the off season, that’s how I see this whole mess playing out.

Enough about the debacle that is the Miami Heat, let’s talk about the Celtics and tomorrow night’s game. Even though the Celtics got older in the offseason, I still like where they stand. Seems as though KG is healthier than he has ever been, and Shaq actually looks like he is serious about playing basketball for the first time since he was traded out of LA. Rondo is primed to prove that he is one of the best guards in the league and Ray Ray can still shoot the piss out of it. Seems like they are pretty well off and I didn’t even mention “The Truth”, or that big goof from Turkey that is supposed to be good. But probably the biggest offseason move for the Celtics this year was not resigning Tony Allen. I know Doc had a man crush on TA, but I will be real frank about this, TONY ALLEN SUCKS AT BASKETBALL. You add all that up and the Celtics have a legit shot to do something this year. I think it’s a good thing that the Heat have their own website on ESPN and are causing a media frenzy. That means the team in green can slowly but surely sneak up on people this season and be poised to cause some trouble in the playoffs. No matter what, they are going to be a tough out for anyone.

Oh, I almost forgot, I have two predictions for tomorrow:

Lebron and Delonte won’t hug

14 years ago yesterday, our boy Tupac Shakur was shot on the Las Vegas strip after a Mike Tyson fight.  I think most of us know the story. There was a fight with Orlando Anderson, and then he was gunned down shortly after. Did Suge have something to do with it? Was it Biggie and Puff? None of that really matters to me. The only thing that sticks with me today is, we lost a young man that was at the climax of his life. 25 years old is too young for anyone too pass, but 2pac exiting Earth in the fashion that he did was a shame. He gave us so much, but think of everything else he had to offer. Had Michael passed at 25 we wouldn’t have seen “The Flu Game”, we wouldn’t have seen him look at Magic and shrug his shoulders. If Denzel left us at 25, we wouldn’t have one movie to watch. Chew on that for a second, no “Training Day”, no “American Gangster”, no “Man On Fire”. Tupac offered us so much in such a small amount of time, it is hard to fathom  what he might have accomplished if he was down here instead of gracing the skies above. At least we had him for as long as we did, because he made an impact on all of us. I am not from the inner city, I don’t reek of THUG LIFE, hell I grew up in a town that was probably smaller than Pac’s entourage at times. But he did open my eyes to a few things, and I am sure I am not alone. It might be impossible to relate to everything he was saying. I sure as hell can’t comprehend it all as I am light years away socially. But I was listening, still am listening, and I am sure I am not alone on that one either.

It has been a while for me, but it is as good a time as any to get back into the game. Rumor has it, Britney Spears is a horrible mother. Her former bodyguard is reportedly leaking information that she not only has abused her children, but she has also had sex in front of them. Now this might be a shock to everyone out there, but I can tell you I am in no way shape of form phased by this info. Young, hot, sexy, and a horrible voice to go with mediocre dance moves doesn’t make you bright. Britney didn’t go to MIT, hell she probably couldn’t have even gone to a state school like the rest of us, so why would you ever think that she would have brains enough to be a good mother. I love Brit, and if Justin hadn’t hit it and quit it back in the day, maybe she wouldn’t be damaged goods now. But what’s done is done, we can’t go back into time when she was pure, and we sure as hell can’t go back in time to when her IQ was above Lohan’s blood alcohol level. Remember the over night marriage to some goof ball? That’s my point, so let’s give her a free pass on this one. If you have to take the kids away so be it, I can live with that. You have to play the hand that momma gave you and Britney’s hand is more about showing some skin and gettin’ the blood flowing for the rest of us. So give up on being a mother and focus on something your good at, because I am sure Angelina wouldn’t mind adding a couple more to the litter.

The game starts in an hour and here are my pre-game thoughts. I am still standing by my comments from Sunday night, Tony Allen needs not to be playing at all in this series. Say what you want about his defense, but he is costing us points at the other end. He doesn’t nearly save us the points guarding Kobe that he costs us on the other end, so sit his ass down. It’s not like he is making tons of money, or was a late season trade that you need to justify. Put his ass back on the bench where he belongs. John Starks was the best player to ever come out of Oklahoma State, that should be enough proof to bury Tony at the end of the bench with Scal.

Also, Sheed needs to take Big Baby’s minutes. I love what Glenn does, and feel he can be effective most of the time, but NOT in this series. He is simply too small, and not nearly skilled enough to score over Bynum and Pau. Sheed can at least stretch the floor, and pull one of the monsters away from the hoop which will create driving lanes for Pierce and Rondo. Driving lanes for those 2 are going to be a huge key in winning this series. There is a time and a place for a Big Baby, and it ain’t now.

And finally, play #4! First of all, he wears a great number, but more importantly he gets everyone going. From the fans, to the players, and if he is going to cheer his ass off 24/7 on the bench, he deserves to get some tick, especially when he is making plays along the way. I’m on Nate’s bandwagon, and that’s all there is to it.

On a side note, that Strasburg kid looks like he has a little game! 14 K’s in your MLB debut is pretty sexy.

Probably the best start to the game as you could possibly have, and follow that up with the WORST end I have ever seen. No defense, missed open jumpers, missed free throws, and HORRIBLE coaching. I mean is Doc serious having Rondo, Allen, Allen, Davis and Sheed in the game at the same time. I would love for him to explain to me how that is going to work while Kobe, Pau and Odom are all out there. Get a clue, and coach the game based on who you are playing, not based on a set rotation. God he pisses me off, and is exactly why he is a shitty coach. Same coach that won 24 games in 2007. There I have said my piece, and he  better make a move because if he doesn’t Kobe is going to shit down his throat. FYI, Paul Lepage is winning.

Ok, here is the deal, down 12 at half time, I think thats a win. Doc had a HORRIBLE 5 on the floor for the first 8 minutes in a row. Ray and Paul haven’t done shit, and Kobe is launching like it’s a pick up game. I like where they are at. This is the NBA and home teams LOVE to go on a run, and I have to believe the Celts will make one to start the 3rd. But we do need to sharpen up on D and stop fouling. They have dominated the free throw line thus far, and that shouldn’t happen. I think the green and white still win, but there will be some drama involved.

He needs to push and look for his own shot and stop trying to get Ray off. Ray just isn’t getting a look. Get KG back in the game, and have Rondo move the tempo, and you win the game. Ray will hit a big shot before it’s over, but it is going to come in transition. Kobe is going to keep shooting, and so force him to take long, tough jumpers, and Boston will take a 2-1. Tough one to lose for the green team, but it doesn’t help with some of the bullshit calls that went against them. It also doesn’t help that Ray Allen didn’t make a shot. It also doesn’t help that Paul Pierce was a BUM AGAIN. Celtics had miserable matchups all night due to fouls, and it showed in the score. Doc just tries to play too many guys, and sometimes at the wrong time. He needs to play the situation like Phil does, no just go with his rotation. Just doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Think about it though, win Thursday and win Sunday and you go back to LA only needing one of two. Not a great performance, but they were a touch lucky to get Game 2. Go get ‘em Thursday and get back on track.

My initial prediction will be plain and simple. Kevin Garnett will show up tonight, and MF Pau Gasol all around the court. And if he doesn’t then we can stick a fork in the Celtics, and Kevin Garnett’s career as well. A couple years ago no one had the guts or the balls to call out KG due to a fear of being eaten alive. Pau Gasol blatantly called KG a bum, and we will find out tonight if he is right or wrong.

Wilbon, and Berry predict a Celtics win, and of course the former hooker banging point guard goes with the purple and gold.

Sheed needs a couple more minutes tonight if Boston wants to win. Big Baby has played well in the playoffs, but he isn’t the answer in this series.

I look for KG to draw the line in the sand fairly early in this one.

Refs seems to be calling it tight so I would like to see Rondo and Pierce still attacking the rim. Ray Ray hasn’t hit the rim yet, so please keep getting him the ball. Get Tony Allen off the floor and let Nate run around with Rondo. Rotations are much crisper on the defensive end. Please help off Artest as he couldn’t make a shot if it meant his mother’s life. Love the effort, and well on their way to stealing Game 2.

Big game for the C’s. Bad game by Garnett, bad game by Pierce, Tony Allen still sucks, and they somehow grabbed this one. Ray Ray kept them afloat in the 1st half and then Rondo made things happen down the stretch. Have to love the effort even though things weren’t always going their way. Sheed still needs to get more of Baby’s minutes. At least Sheed can contend with the size and stretch the D a little bit. We have a series now, can’t wait for Boston.

I am sorry it has taken me so long to comprise a comment about the recent Lebron-Delonte Saga, but here I am to speak my mind. It has been rumored, and I emphasis rumor, that Delonte West has been sleeping with Lebron’s mother. The story goes that Lebron found out moments before Game 4 against the Boston Celtics. After ripping the locker room to shreds, they went out and got embarrassed, and proceeded to lose 3 consecutive games. More over, it appeared as though Lebron was mentally somewhere else for the rest of the series. I thought that maybe that was because of all the pressure that the defense was putting on him, BUT maybe something else was on his mind!?

There will be people out there saying that Delonte can probably get anyone he wants, and I might dispute that based on the way he looks, but think about this. Maybe it was a revenge thing. Maybe Lebron was on his ass all season, ripping him in front of teammates and coaches. So instead of talking back to King James, the MVP of the NBA, he went out and locked in on Lebron’s mother? That seems pretty plausible to me, and if that wasn’t the reason, maybe Delonte really can’t get any better than Gloria. Regardless, it did look like something was wrong from Game 4 on, and if this is the best explanation that we can get, I’ll go with it.

Thought I would let you all know that my girl is gracing the cover of the new Vogue magazine. She is running around in hot summer clothes which is a very good thing. Ya’ll know she is my number 1 and I have a soft spot for her, but I think it’s getting softer and softer every time I see a pic of her. This blog is simple, I just wanted to put her picture up.

Of course there are rumors circulating about a possible sex tape featuring football fan Kendra. Think about it, this chick probably has one of the best dumpers in the world. She used to be relevant when she was hanging out with Holly and Hef, and now she is married to a 5th string wide out that has to look for a practice squad to make every summer. What better way to sneak back into the spotlight, than to release a sex tape? You would have to be crazy to think that this one wasn’t rockin’ and rollin’ 7 nights a week at the Playboy Mansion. Gettin’ down is not an issue with her, it was probably more like how many do I get down with. Girls or guys, I can assume that she has done it all, and obviously has some footage to back it up. So don’t follow suit like the rest of the celebs, admit that you want this to come out, collect the cash, and get back on the front page of US Weekly. Hank might leave you, but let’s be honest, thats not really a loss since there is 4 guys better than him on every team in the world. Trading in, and trading up usually isn’t a bad play. Make it happen Kendra.

I think every sports blogger on the planet had something to write about today after they watched King James’ lack luster performance in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.  Lebron had a terrible game, hell it was catastrophic. He looked rather lethargic as the Celtics stymied him and his Cleveland Cavaliers. You can say what you want about the stats, as they were no great, but in my mind actions speak louder than words. Lebron’s some what oblivious attitude is what bothers me more than his production. There was no desire, no determination, no sense of urgency. It was almost like we went back in time to a preseason game in early October. Game 5s are more than pivotal, and in this one, Lebron seemed to be going through the motions. His give a fuck meter was definitely not working, and it just looks bad. While everyone is going to blame him and piss and moan about him not being able to get Cleveland that ring, I have something I need to say. Understand that the Celtics are playing well, and they are defending him better than anyone has been able to in his whole career. Trying to compare his numbers in this series to the rest of the season is a joke, because we all know the regular season is a glorified pick up game, and the playoffs is where the big boys come to play. The Celtics need some credit for Lebron’s floundering moments last night. Boston is like a prize fighter creeping on 40 years old, knowing it probably only has one more bout in them, they are going to go down swinging. That kind of nothing to lose, swing for the fence attitude can be very dangerous in the sporting world, and right now Boston is proving just how dangerous they can be. BUT Lebron has a chance to win his people back, as the series is not over. I am sure the Lebron followers would like to see him “care” a little bit more coming down the stretch and so would I. Ask Barkley how it feels to have MJ razz his ass night in and night out about not having a ring? Lebron, do you really want to have rendezvous with Kobe and his rings, while you are just holding your Nike contract? You would have to cut MJ’s heart out in order to send him home a loser. Right now, a swift body punch and you want turn the other way. There is no shame in leaving it all on the court, that’s respect, that’s love. Make me a believer, because right now, I am on the bandwagon with everyone else, and it reads SKEPTICAL. Time to REDEEM yourself!
